Sustainable Sourcing Policy

Evyap’s business philosophy is to conduct businesses in a responsible and sustainable ways based on long-term committed sustainable business practices as one of our core values. To increase positive impacts on livelihoods and the environment while maintaining sustained profitable growth is our ultimate goal in sustainable sourcing.

All direct and indirect suppliers in Evyap’s value chain are expected to be MSPO Members and have the necessary policies, procedures, and certifications in place to support Evyap’s Responsible Sourcing Policy.

  • Evyap is committed to ensuring that 100% of our palm oil volume is sourced from suppliers that are MSPO certified.
  • Suppliers are encouraged to be RSPO, ISCC certified as required.
  • All suppliers must commit to NDPE principles, including:
 

No Deforestation

  • No development on High Carbon Stock (HCS) Forests after 31 December 2019.
  • No development on High Conservation Value (HCV) Areas after 31 December 2019.
  • No burning in the preparation of new plantings and re-plantings.
  • Progressively reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on existing plantations.
  • Committed to support and engage in initiatives that promote forest restoration and long-term ecosystem recovery.
 

No Development on Peat

  • No development on peat regardless of depth.
  • Best Management Practices for existing plantations on peat.
  • Committed to support initiatives for peat restoration.
 

No Exploitation of People and Local Communities

  • Respect and support the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
  • Respect and recognize the rights of all workers including contract, temporary and migrant workers.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of smallholders into the supply chain.
  • Respect land tenure rights.
  • Respect Indigenous Peoples’ or local communities’ right to free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC).
  • Resolve all complaints and conflicts through an open, transparent and consultative process.
 

Transparency and Supply Chain

  • Provide Traceability to Mills (TTM) and Traceability to Plantations (TTP) annually.
  • Establish proper records of grievances and actions taken to address each issue.
  • Cooperate with Evyap to verify your compliance to Evyap’s policies through audits on request.

  • Malaysian Environmental, Labor, and Land Use Laws

All suppliers must comply with all national and local laws in Malaysia, including regulations on environmental protection, labor, and land use. Any suppliers found to be non-compliance to Evyap’s sustainable sourcing policy shall be suspended in the entire supply chain.
